Our air-conditioned cabins sleep up to four people and come with a real roof, a locking door, and cool air when the August sun is beating down. They're a simple middle ground between pitching a tent and hauling an RV, and they're right here on our grounds off HWY 79, about 4½ miles from Main Street. If you'd rather not fuss with poles or hookups, this is the easy way to camp the rally.
What do the cabins include?
Each cabin is built to be a comfortable place to come back to after a long day of riding. Here's what you get:
– Air conditioning, which is the whole point in August
– Beds for up to four people
– A locking door, so your gear stays put while you're out
– Easy access to our hot showers, laundromat, and general store on-site
– A short walk to the restaurant, cold beer, happy hour, and live bands every night
The cabins don't have their own kitchens or bathrooms, so you'll use our shared shower house and grab food and supplies at the restaurant and store. For a lot of folks, that trade is worth it. You skip the setup and cleanup and still have everything close by.
How many people can stay in one cabin?
Each cabin sleeps four. That works well for a small group of riders splitting the cost, a couple who wants a little extra room, or friends who'd rather not share a tent. If you've got a bigger crew, you can book more than one cabin and stay right next to each other. Give us a call and we'll help you sort out the arrangement so everybody's together.
If it's just two of you, a cabin still makes sense. You get the whole space, a good night's sleep, and no wrestling with a tent in the dark after a long day on the road.
Why does the air conditioning matter so much?
August in the Black Hills can swing hot. Daytime temperatures during rally week often climb into the 90s, and a tent turns into an oven by mid-morning. After riding all day in the heat and dust, coming back to a cool room does more than feel nice—it helps you actually rest. Good sleep is what keeps you safe and sharp for the next day's ride.
That's the real reason we put air conditioning in every cabin. Rally week is long, the days are full, and the nights are loud with music and karaoke and everything else going on around here. Having a cool, quiet place to shut the door and sleep makes the whole week better. We keep a semi-quiet atmosphere on our grounds on purpose, so you've got somewhere to wind down.
Is a cabin right for you?
If you're new to the rally, don't own an RV, and don't want to deal with tent camping, a cabin is a good place to start. You get shelter, cool air, and a spot that's close to Main Street, the Buffalo Chip, Full Throttle, and Broken Spoke, plus our DaBus shuttle if you'd rather not ride into town. You bring your bags and your bedding, and we handle the rest.
